We cannot accept verbal requests for medications by phone or in person
This is in line with the rest of NHS Lothian GP Practices and is to reduce the risk of medication errors.
You can make requests either
By ticking which medication you need from your repeat prescription side slip (this can be printed by reception if you don’t have one)
In writing at reception (request slips and drop off box on reception desk)
By making arrangements with your local chemist for them to request on your behalf (this may not be available everywhere)
Please allow 3-4 working days for your request to be processed

If you are on regular medication and your doctor decides you can receive this without having to speak to a doctor or nurse every time, you can use the repeat prescription service.
This means when you receive your prescription(s) a tear-off slip will be attached showing the prescription(s) you can order.
These slips can either be posted, (please enclose a stamped addressed envelope), or handed in at reception.
Please try and give us at least 72 hours to process your request. Your prescription will then be ready for collection at reception or it can be sent to some local pharmacies for collection there. You must inform us of your chosen Pharmacy.
Some local Pharmacies can also take your repeat request slips. Depending on timing, prescriptions ordered via local pharmacies may take 4 to 5 days to process from handing in the slip to collecting the re-ordered medicines. Please ask at your pharmacy.
You can also now order repeats online. If you would like to register for this service, please pop into reception to fill in a registration form, and bring some ID with you please.
We review repeat medicines periodically. Patients on repeat medication may be asked to speak to a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse from time to time to review regular repeat medications. Notification of this may appear on your repeat slip.
