If you are travelling abroad your health is important to us and we want you to be safe.  We recommend you seek travel advice from a designated travel clinic.  We have listed local travel clinics below or follow this link for more information.

It is up to you which clinic you attend but it may be worthwhile to contact them, as costs for assessment and treatment may vary.

We are happy to provide any vaccines available on the NHS but you must bring your travel advice sheet with you when you book an appointment for travel vaccinations at the Medical Practice.  The travel advice sheet will be issued by the travel clinic after your consultation.

Any other vaccinations required will have to be provided by a Travel Clinic. Please click here for further information

Travel advice and medicine is an important part of your holiday so seek advice early.  If your date of travel is less than six weeks away you will have to receive all advice and vaccines from your chosen travel clinic.

If you are pregnant or have a child travelling under the age of 2 years you should seek advice and all vaccinations required from your journey from the travel clinic.

Travel insurance – please ensure you have arranged adequate travel insurance that covers health emergencies and repatriation.

Travelling in Europe

If you are travelling to Europe a very useful booklet has been published with advice and guidance to help you get the most out of your holiday.  To visit please click here (this is a large document and may take a minute or two to view).

You should also apply for an E111 or EHIC (European Health Insurance) card, which entitles you to receive some free medical treatment in European countries.  You can collect an application form at the Post office or apply online Here.

There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below

Europe Europe & Russia North America North America
Central America Central America South America South America
Caribbean Caribbean Africa Africa
Middle East Middle East Central Asia Central Asia
East Asia East Asia Australasia Australasia and Pacific

It is important to make these arrangements as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as appointments may be required with both the Travel clinic, and the Practice Nurse to receive all the vaccinations that you require.

Some vaccines may have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine.  Your vaccinations may need several weeks before you travel to be effective.

As already mentioned some travel vaccines are only available privately and we are unable to provide or administer these vaccines.  This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
